The Institute of Chartered Loss Control and Private Security Management is an independent professional Board established in terms of Section 6 of the Institute of Chartered Loss Control and Private Security Management Act Chapter 27:23. Its members enjoy professional status conferred upon them in section 6 (2) of the Act.
Members are legally known through their designation as Chartered Professional Loss Control Managers and Chartered Professional Security Managers with the privilege to use post nominals CpLM and CpSM respectively.

Honourable Dr. Retired Colonel Joshua Murire is a distinguished professional with a legacy in military service, public administration, and security management, demonstrating leadership, dedication, and expertise across diverse sectors.

Academic Credentials: Bachelor of Business Studies (Hons) Finance, University of Zimbabwe (1989); MBA, University of Zimbabwe (2003); PhD in Loss Control and Security Management, University of Portsmouth (2018).

Certified Fraud Examiner with over 23 years of experience in Loss Control, Security Management, Risk Management, Compliance, Fraud, and Forensic Investigations.
Holds a Master of Commerce in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance (Midlands State University), a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Management (University of Science and Technology), a Diploma in Banking (Institute of Bankers of Zimbabwe), and a Diploma in Security Risk Management (Southern Africa Institute of Security and Risk Management).
Certified and affiliated with the Institute of Bankers of Zimbabwe; Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (Zimbabwe, South Africa, USA); and the Institute of Bankers South Africa (Chartered Banking Professional).
Career highlights include service in the Zimbabwe Republic Police (from 2000) and Criminal Investigations Department (from 2005), leading investigations at People’s Own Savings Bank (from 2017), and serving as Chief Investigations and Integrity Officer at IDBZ (from 2023).
