Institute of Chartered Loss Control and Private Security Management (Registration) Regulations, 2026

The Registration Regulations set out how practitioners are registered with the Institute and the designations they may use once registered. The following registration categories are administered under the Regulations:

Chartered Professional Members

Experienced practitioners actively engaged in the field who seek statutory registration in accordance with the Act may be registered as Chartered Professional Loss Control Manager (CpLM) or Chartered Professional Security Manager (CpSM). Registration confers legal recognition under the Regulations and entitles members to use the respective post-nominal designations as evidence of their chartered professional status.

Certified Practitioner Members

Experienced practitioners seeking formal certification and registration for practitioner-level professional standing may register as Certified Loss Control Practitioner, Certified Loss Control and Private Security Practitioner, Certified Loss Control Manager, or Certified Loss Control and Private Security Manager. Registration confers legal recognition under the Regulations and entitles members to use the respective post-nominal designations as evidence of their certified professional status.

Graduate Members

Graduates beginning their professional career in loss control and private security management under a structured, industry-focused training programme supervised by qualified professionals are registered under the Regulations. Qualifying graduates hold either an undergraduate degree at level 7 of the Zimbabwe National Qualification Framework (ZNQF) or an Advanced Diploma approved at no less than ZNQF level 6, in the fields of crime and loss prevention occupations.

The Regulations are a separate statutory instrument promulgated pursuant to the Institute of Chartered Loss Control and Private Security Management Act, 2023 (Act No. 2 of 2023) [Chapter 27:23]. The principal Act is published on its own page.
