Membership of the Institute is governed by the Institute of Chartered Loss Control and Private Security Management Act [Chapter 27:23]. All application and registration processes are administered in accordance with the Institute of Chartered Loss Control and Private Security Management (Registration) Regulations, 2026, ensuring compliance, transparency, and adherence to prescribed professional standards.

Registration confers the legal right to use the respective post-nominal designation upon approval.

1. Institutional Membership

Annual Fee: $1000

Institutional Membership is tailored for organisations that recognise the strategic importance of the security, loss control, and risk management sectors and are committed to advancing professional excellence, ethical practice, and regulatory compliance. This membership category is reserved for forward-thinking companies that align their operations with the standards prescribed under the Institute of Chartered Loss Control and Private Security Management Act. It recognises organisations that actively support the professional development, registration, and continuous growth of Certified Loss Control Managers and Certified Loss Control and Private Security Managers.

2. Chartered Membership

Annual Fee: $220 USD

This category applies to experienced practitioners actively engaged in the field who seek statutory registration in accordance with the Institute of Chartered Loss Control and Private Security Management Act [Chapter 27:23]. Eligible professionals may be registered as Chartered Professional Loss Control Manager (CpLM) or Chartered Professional Security Manager (CpSM). Registration confers legal recognition under the Institute of Chartered Loss Control and Private Security Management (Registration) Regulations, 2026, and entitles members to use the respective post-nominal designations CpLM or CpSM as evidence of their chartered professional status.

3. Certified Membership

Annual Fee: $160 - $180

This category is designed for experienced practitioners who seek formal certification and registration for practitioner-level professional standing in loss control and private security management. Certified practitioners benefit from recognition of their technical expertise, access to practitioner development programs, and a pathway toward senior certified or chartered professional status within the Institute. Eligible professionals include Certified Loss Control Practitioner, Certified Loss Control and Private Security Practitioner, Certified Loss Control Manager, and Certified Loss Control and Private Security Manager. Registration confers legal recognition under the Institute of Chartered Loss Control and Private Security Management (Registration) Regulations, 2026, and entitles members to use the respective post-nominal designations as evidence of their certified professional status.

4. Articled Membership

Annual Fee: $150 USD

This is for graduates beginning their professional career in loss control private security management under a structured training and industry focused program under qualified professionals. The graduates are registered under the Institute of Chartered Loss Control and Private Security Management (Registration) Regulations, 2026. Qualifying graduates are those who hold either an undergraduate degree of level 7 of the Zimbabwe National Qualification Framework (ZNQF) or an Advanced Diploma which is approved to be at least Zimbabwe National Qualification Framework (ZNQF) level 6, in the fields of crime and loss prevention occupations (including cyber security, digital, physical and forensic investigation; debt collection, risk management, loss assessment, loss control and disaster and emergency Management).

5. Associate Membership

Annual Fee: $120 USD

This category is designed for early-career professionals building qualifications and experience. Associate Members gain entry-level membership recognition while accessing professional development resources, discounted training and events, and networking with other emerging professionals. The category provides a supportive pathway for progression to certified membership as members gain the necessary qualifications and experience.

6. Student Membership

Annual Fee: $150 USD

This category is designed for trainee members participating in an articled internship programme. Student Members gain practical workplace training and experience, access to internship placement guidance, professional networking in a training context, and membership recognition during internship, with a clear progression path to higher membership categories.

Constituent Elements / Areas of Specialisation

Crime and loss prevention occupational activities which include cyber security; digital, physical and forensic investigation; debt collection, risk management, loss assessment, loss control and disaster and emergency management are constituent elements of the profession.

  • Personal information: title, full name, email address, phone number, date of birth, nationality, and physical address.
  • Professional information: current job title, employer, industry sector, years of experience, and areas of specialisation.
  • Qualifications: highest academic qualification, relevant professional certifications, and a CV or resume.
  • References: two professional references, including each referee's name, job title, organisation, and email address.
  • Declaration: confirmation that the information is accurate, the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct will be followed, and the information may be used for membership administration.
